Hi Cheryl, I never thought of boundaries in the manner in which you wrote, but you are so right!! I always think of it as setting up boundaries to keep people from invading, but as you so insightfully shared, we ourselves push boundaries every day through spending, Smartphone and all manner of activities that do not honor the Lord.It seems we as a society just can't get out of our own way since the onset of technology and Smartphones. It shows that left to our "own devices" pun intended, we too often choose escapism or our own pleasure rather than seek the Lord.Thank you for your honesty, always imparted with great love and humility. I treasure your friendship and your Godly insights.
Oh, your words are SO true, dear friend! Thank you so very much for your encouragement and support and friendship. I am so very thankful for you and sending much love to you!
Cheryl, I am trying to catch up. Wonderful post today dear lady. Oh that we would learn! I have thought of the many times I have walked into a store only to leave with more than I went for. Then to arrive home and say, "Now did you really need that?". What I need and what I want are two totally different things. I think of the smart devices as well and how many times I have complained about seeing a group of people sitting together and yet they were not together at all. It has made me often think of "Where has the fellowship gone". Technology is awesome there is no doubt but like anything else in life...it will consume us if we are not careful. I have a rule at my home. Since my family comes to eat Sunday dinner with me each week after church I asked them a long time ago if they put their phones away while we ate. That time is precious to me. It's when we visit, talk, laugh and catch up on our week. I don't always do things right by any means and have so many flaws of my own but at least we can get through a meal without the dinging of the cell phone. Ha! Thanks for sharing. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
