Minimalism from a Biblical Point of View —

Biblical Minimalism is "a complete, whole-person release of anything unlike Jesus, a letting go of everything that hinders us from following Him wholeheartedly and single-mindedly, and a relinquishing of all that brings us under bondage to this earthly, very temporary life." Cheryl E. Smith

  1. Dear Cheryl,
I’m so sorry that I’ve only just had the space to give your new blog the attention it deserves. It’s clear it’s come out of a lot of prayer, reflection - and often hard choices. And I am so glad that you have quickly found people who are responding to and benefitting from your message. I like your ‘whole person pie’ – definitely food for thought there (!) – and just wanted to encourage you as a fellow traveller.

And, if I may, pray my favourite blessing: “The Lord bless you and keep you in this venture; the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you and the work of your hands; the Lord turn his face towards you and give you peace in the way ahead.(Nos 6:24-26)”
    God Bless, Kate W

  4. As I embarked on my minimalist journey, I found that shedding material possessions not only brought me closer to Jesus but also liberated me from the bondage of this fleeting world. Through this process, I discovered a profound sense of freedom and wholehearted devotion to living a purposeful life aligned with Christ's teachings. It's truly remarkable how embracing minimalism can lead to a transformative spiritual awakening.

  5. I was captivated by the blog post on biblical minimalism. The author's passionate exploration of minimalism's impact on one's spiritual journey resonated deeply with me. Reflecting on my own experiences, I remember the serenity that filled my heart when I decluttered my living space, allowing me to connect with the divine on a profound level. It's truly remarkable how minimalism can shape our relationship with both material possessions and our faith.
